CIRA Strengthens MSME Capacity with Credit Information Workshop

Suva, Fiji – 18 August 2025 – The Credit Information Reporting Agency Pte Limited (CIRA) successfully hosted a workshop and networking event for micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) business owners on 15 August 2025, held at the Greenhouse Coworking space on Des Vœux Road, Suva.

The event brought together 20 MSME business owners for an interactive evening session aimed at improving understanding of credit information, creditworthiness, and financial health, key factors in business sustainability and growth.

The workshop was held with the support of the Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) and featured active participation from the Fiji Development Bank (FDB), Merchant Finance, and the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS). These institutions engaged directly with MSME participants, offering insights, answering queries, and providing feedback on how businesses can strengthen their credit profiles and access financing opportunities.

Speaking at the event, CIRA representatives highlighted the importance of positive credit information and proactive financial management in helping MSMEs gain access to loans, build trust with suppliers, and unlock growth opportunities. The program also covered practical steps for managing negative listings, checking credit reports, and leveraging available government and private sector support initiatives.

The evening concluded with a networking reception, where MSME owners connected with financial institutions, regulators, and fellow entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and build valuable relationships.

CIRA expressed its gratitude to the Reserve Bank of Fiji and partner institutions for their support, and reaffirmed its commitment to empowering MSMEs through access to reliable credit information and financial literacy initiatives.

This workshop is part of CIRA’s ongoing efforts to promote financial inclusion and strengthen the resilience of Fiji’s business community.
